East Jackson High School earned another distinction Thursday after being named a 2025 SSTAGE Rising STAR Award recipient. 

East Jackson High School has been named a Military Flagship School by the Georgia Department of Education.

Three sophomores from the Jackson County School System will be attending the Governor's Honors Program this upcoming summer.

The Jackson County School System has announced its Class of 2025 Valedictorians and Salutatorians for both East Jackson High School and Jackson County High School.

Three students from the Jackson County School System were selected to participate in the upcoming All-State Band weekend on Feb. 27 through March 1 in Athens. A fourth student was named an alternate. 

The Jackson County School System will have 24 students participate in the upcoming All-State Chorus weekend on Feb. 13-15 in Athens. 

The Jackson County School System will be sending a system-record 22 students to the State Technology Competition this March, following the regional competition in Barrow County last weekend. 

The Jackson County School System has announced its STAR Student and Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. East Jackson High School's Selah Wheeler is the STAR Student, selecting Mr. Jonathan Bagley as the STAR Teacher. Jackson County High School's Andrea Seagraves is the STAR Student, selecting Ms. Devin Donaldson as the STAR Teacher. 

The Jackson County School System is pleased to announce the following individuals as the winners of the District Technology Competition. All winners will now advance to the regional competition held in Winder in January. 

The Jackson County School System Class of 2024 set the system's new all-time highest graduation rate at 96 percent. The state of Georgia average was 85.4 percent.

The Jackson County Board of Education has been named an Exemplary Board by the Georgia School Boards Association, the organization announced Monday. The honor marks the second-consecutive year the Jackson County BOE has been named an Exemplary Board.

East Jackson Comprehensive High School and Jackson County High School have earned the distinction as Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools following a release by the Georgia Department of Education on Tuesday. The 2024 AP Honor Schools are placed into eight categories based on the results from the 2023 AP courses and exams. 

The Jackson County School System saw an increase in scores from the End of Grade testing conducted at the conclusion of the 2022-23 school year. The State of Georgia released the scores Friday. 

Students take Georgia Milestones End of Grade tests in grades three through eight and End of Course tests in four high school courses. 

School and district-leaders from within the Jackson County School System visited local industry leaders from Jackson County during a leadership retreat on Friday, June 9. 

The retreat started Friday morning with 74 leaders visiting six industrial leaders. The goal of the retreat was for leaders to gain a better understanding of the industry located in Jackson County and the opportunities that are available after graduation for the over 10,000 students within the Jackson County School System.
