EJCHS Literary Sending 13 to State

EJCHS Literary Sending 13 to State

East Jackson Comprehensive High School is sending 13 students to the State Literary Championships in nine categories on March 16. The state invitations come following an outstanding region meet on Saturday when the Eagles claimed seven first-place finishes and a pair of second-place finishes.

The following EJCHS students finished in first place: Drew Saucier (Literary Analysis), Diego Uribe (Extemporaneous Speech International), Adriannah Anderson and Ella Saliba (Duo Dramatic Interpretation), Trace Griffin, Shane McAlister, Liam Searan and Hudson Hill (Quartet), Emily Bunn, Carleigh Chandler and Angelina Vasquez (Trio), Bunn (Girls Solo) and Lincon Walker (Boys Solo).

Second-place finishers Tatiana Roper-Zapata (Solo Dramatic) and Anderson (Solo Comedic) will each advance to the state championship after no first-place winner was declared in the regional due to time constraints.

Leila Huss (Personal Essay), Ahnyz Middlebrooks (Argumentative Essay) and (Extemporaneous Speech Domestic) Abigail Cornelius each finished third.
