EJHS Named National Beta School of Distinction, Merit

East Jackson High School has been named a 2023-24 National Beta School of Distinction and School of Merit. EJMS earned the School of Merit by offering National Beta to all eligible grades within the school. 

A School of Distinction honor is awarded to Beta clubs that continuously strive towards academic achievement, exemplary character, demonstrated leadership and service to others. With an ongoing quest to instill these qualities in more students, the National Beta School of Distinction Award is designed to award those schools that show an increase in membership for the current school year. It is awarded to Beta clubs who increase membership 10% by the application deadline. 

The National Beta School of Merit award is given to honor a club's dedication and commitment to academic excellence. To achieve the prestigious honor, a school must include members from all eligible grade levels to be a member of the Beta Club. This year, only 49 percent of Beta Clubs throughout the nation earned the distinction.

During the 2023-24 school year, the East Jackson High School Beta Club chapter added 49 members, competed at State and National Conventions, participated in two Regional Leadership Summits, and our members were able to maintain eligibility with a 92 or higher GPA and minimum of 30 service hours.
