Super Smashers Final Four
Esports' Super Smashers recently took down the #2 team, making them the first team in school history to make it into the final 4!
Federal Programs Input Meeting
Please join us for the Annual Federal Programs Input Meeting on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Empower College and Career Center (either 10:00-11:00 or 3:30-5:30). We invite all staff, families, and community members to attend.
Kentucky Derby Day

Botanical Gardens Investigation Lab &
Bear Hollow Zoo
Before Spring Break, Ms. Sherman's AP Biology class went on a field trip to the Botanical Gardens in Athens, GA. Students engaged in a stream investigation lab by collecting macroinvertebrate data and environmental parameter data of the Orange Creek Trail. This data is part of their ongoing ecology project about the Urban Stream Syndrome. After the lab, students visited Bear Hollow Zoo to observe and learn more about other wildlife that are native to Georgia.
Classes Visit Atlanta Safari
Ms. Ruth Wilson's Zoology and AP Environmental classes got the chance to get out of the classroom. Zoology students visited the Atlanta Safari where they saw emus, camels, and giraffes. The AP Environmental students ventured to the creek where they checked the pH of the water and looked for macroinvertebrates.

Help Stock the Clinic
Our clinic is in short supply of the following items: band-aids, 3oz drinking cups, deodorant, small bottles of water, Ziploc bags, wet wipes, Lysol spray, individually-wrapped snacks, and small individual boxes of cereal. All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in the EJHS front office at any time.
Brand New Graduation Venue
East Jackson High School is excited to announce the Class of 2025 Graduation Commencement Ceremony will be held at the new Akins Ford Arena in Athens on Saturday, May 17 at 3 p.m. The new venue will allow for:
- Increased guest capacity to ensure more family members and friends can attend and share in this important occasion.
- Ample parking to provide a smooth arrival and departure experience for all attendees.
- Comfortable, climate-controlled environment that allows everyone to celebrate each graduate regardless of outdoor weather conditions.
- Improved sightlines to bring families closer to the stage and ensure that each graduate’s moment is clearly visible.

EJHS has a zero tolerance policy regarding cell phones and other non-JCSS digital devices. Please be sure to review the cell phone policy.

We have moved to ParentSquare as a classroom, school, and district mass communication platform. Families should have received an invitation via the email address associated with your student in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal! Download the ParentSquare app today! (Note: you must have an active Infinite Campus portal account and be marked as a guardian to connect in ParentSquare).

Scholastic Images will be on campus on various days this year to take orders and answer questions.
Bus Riders from EJHS to Empower
Students opting to ride the bus from EJHS to Empower for morning classes should be sure to arrive on time to catch the AM Empower bus, which leaves our campus promptly at 7:45 each morning. Students who arrive late and miss the bus must report to the media center for a tardy pass. Students are reminded that multiple tardies result in disciplinary action.
Need Infinite Campus/Canvas Support?
Students and parents in need of Infinite Campus assistance should first try resetting passwords on your own with the help of this video guide: Reset Your Infinite Campus Password. If you are unable to change passwords or login, please complete the Infinite Campus Support Form for assistance and check your email within a couple of days for a resolution.

- Breakfast costs $1.45 in the elementary schools and $1.55 in the middle and high schools.
- Lunch costs $2.10 in the elementary schools and $2.60 in the middle and high schools.
- Adults can eat with their children at $2.75 for breakfast or $3.75 for lunch.
SchoolPay for All Other Payment Transactions
SchoolPay is the only way to complete transactions related to school services, including fundraisers, club dues, and dance tickets this year. We will be limiting cash and check transactions moving forward.

STEM Kickoff
Our rising 9th graders gathered in the library for our STEM Kickoff! Students jumped into a hands-on challenge, using their creativity and problem-solving skills to build the tallest free-standing structure out of pipe cleaners. We’re so excited to see what these future scientists, engineers, and creators will accomplish next school year.

Brooklynn Brown is shown with Hal Wilkinson, a representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission. Mr. Wilkinson was here to assist students in applying for the Hope Scholarship and completing their FAFSA application.
Spring Special Olympics
East Jackson High is thrilled to host the county Spring Special Olympics today and tomorrow! The energy on campus is amazing as students and visitors cheer on these incredible athletes. From big smiles to even bigger hearts, the joy is contagious, and our kids are having an absolute blast — running, jumping, and playing their hearts out! All Wrapped Up for a Good Cause
Today, the RISE STEM program hosted a fundraiser to support iServe Ministries. As part of the event, students were invited to purchase strips of duct tape to help tape Coach Wheeler to a wall! This creative and engaging activity not only brought students together but also raised funds for a great cause.
Drama Presents, Little Women
Come experience the timeless tale of Little Women! Follow the journey of four sisters as they navigate life in New England during the Civil War.
Shows will be Thursday, April 24th and Friday, April 25th at 7:00 pm.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults.
April Teacher of the Month
Congratulations to our April Teacher of the Month, Mr. Mac Channell! Special thanks to the Hardigree Team for sponsoring teacher recognitions each month and for this month's treat!
EJHS Mastery Chorale Wins in Spain!
We came. We saw. We conquered. The EJHS Mastery Chorale traveled to Spain during spring break and participated in an international choral competition, along with multiple choirs from all around the world. Our eagles made our school, JCSS school district, community, county, state, and country proud as they secured a championship win in the Youth Choirs of Mixed Voices division!!!
Choir members performed in such beautiful venues as the Parish Church of Sant Romà - Lloret de Mar, Basílica de Montserrat in Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, and the Golden Voices of Montserrat Gala Concert in Costa Brava. Our students and chaperones enjoyed sightseeing and shopping in Lloret de Mar, experiencing the sand and seaglass along the Mediterranean Sea, and visiting Barcelona to see the Basílica de la Sagrada Família.

East Jackson High School is one of just 25 schools in the state to have been named a Military Flagship School by the Georgia Department of Education! Read more by visiting www.jacksonschoolsga.org/news.
EJHS proudly received its Military Flagship School banner from the Georgia Department of Education during a special ceremony honoring our commitment to military-connected students on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Superintendent Dr. Philip Brown also signed a proclamation recognizing April as the Month of the Military Child, celebrating and supporting the incredible students in our district whose parents serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. To top it off, EJHS presented a $1,500 donation to the Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Schools Care in support of military families.

Southern Star Music Festival
Congratulations to Dr. Chandler and our chorus students on their success at the Southern Star Music Festival.
-Advanced Choir earned a silver rating.
-Mastery Chorale earned a gold rating and runners-up in the entire competition.
-Both the Men's and Women's Choirs earned gold ratings and took 1st place in their respective categories.
Eagle Exchange
JSLT is hosting a tailgate before the baseball game on April 18th at 4 pm. If you donated items to the Eagle Exchange, you have been entered into a raffle to win an iPad. Come to the tailgate for your chance to win! There will be free food, games, Kona Ice, free admission into the baseball game, and free Eagle gear to pickup from the Eagle Exchange. See you there!

Summer Health & PE Course

Southern Star Music Festival
Congratulations to Dr. Chandler and our chorus students on their success at the Southern Star Music Festival.
-Advanced Choir earned a silver rating.
-Mastery Chorale earned a gold rating and runners-up in the entire competition.
-Both the Men's and Women's Choirs earned gold ratings and took 1st place in their respective categories.
Eagle Exchange
JSLT is hosting a tailgate before the baseball game on April 18th at 4 pm. If you donated items to the Eagle Exchange, you have been entered into a raffle to win an iPad. Come to the tailgate for your chance to win! There will be free food, games, Kona Ice, free admission into the baseball game, and free Eagle gear to pickup from the Eagle Exchange. See you there!

Our clinic is in short supply of the following items: band-aids, 3oz drinking cups, deodorant, small bottles of water, Ziploc bags, wet wipes, Lysol spray, individually-wrapped snacks, and small individual boxes of cereal. All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in the EJHS front office at any time.

Brand New Graduation Venue
East Jackson High School is excited to announce the Class of 2025 Graduation Commencement Ceremony will be held at the new Akins Ford Arena in Athens on Saturday, May 17 at 3 p.m. The new venue will allow for:
- Increased guest capacity to ensure more family members and friends can attend and share in this important occasion.
- Ample parking to provide a smooth arrival and departure experience for all attendees.
- Comfortable, climate-controlled environment that allows everyone to celebrate each graduate regardless of outdoor weather conditions.
- Improved sightlines to bring families closer to the stage and ensure that each graduate’s moment is clearly visible.

Families should have received an invitation via the email address associated with your student in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal! Download the ParentSquare app today! Scholastic Images will be on campus on various days this year to take orders and answer questions.
Bus Riders from EJHS to Empower
Students opting to ride the bus from EJHS to Empower for morning classes should be sure to arrive on time to catch the AM Empower bus, which leaves our campus promptly at 7:45 each morning. Students who arrive late and miss the bus must report to the media center for a tardy pass. Students are reminded that multiple tardies result in disciplinary action.
Need Infinite Campus/Canvas Support?
Students and parents in need of Infinite Campus assistance should first try resetting passwords on your own with the help of this video guide: Reset Your Infinite Campus Password. If you are unable to change passwords or login, please complete the Infinite Campus Support Form for assistance and check your email within a couple of days for a resolution.

- Breakfast costs $1.45 in the elementary schools and $1.55 in the middle and high schools.
- Lunch costs $2.10 in the elementary schools and $2.60 in the middle and high schools.
- Adults can eat with their children at $2.75 for breakfast or $3.75 for lunch.
SchoolPay for All Other Payment Transactions
SchoolPay is the only way to complete transactions related to school services, including fundraisers, club dues, and dance tickets this year. We will be limiting cash and check transactions moving forward.
