JCSS Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to our very own Ms. Katy Stone, the 2024 Jackson County School System Teacher of the Year. Ms. Stone was named this year's winner during a banquet Thursday night. Ms. Micki Borsa, our 2024 EJHS Support Person of the Year, was also honored during the banquet!
Georgia Associations of Student Councils
Leadership Summit
Members of the East Jackson Student Council recently attended the Georgia Association of Student Councils Leadership Summit at the state capital. Students heard Rep. Sam Park and our very own Dr. Stratemeyer, EJHS Principal and GASC Administrator of the Year, speak about the importance of leadership. The team also attended leadership workshops and networked with other student council members from around the state.
EJHS Night at Commerce CFA
Eagle Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A Commerce is on Wednesday, October 9th!
Place a mobile order on October 9th through the Chick-fil-A App from 2:00-8:00 pm and 20% of the sales we bring in through the dining room/ drive-thru will go to East Jackson HS!
When placing your order through the Chick-fil-A App, select ""Community Care Event"" and use Organization Code EJHS9.
Orders must be placed through the Chick-fil-A App to participate in the fundraiser for East Jackson High School!

National Custodial Workers Day
It was great to celebration National Custodial Workers Day with our EJHS crew last week!
Art in the Park Winners
Congratulations to the following students who participated in the Art In The Park student art competition this year:

Student Athletes of the Month
EJHS is proud to recognize and celebrate our Student-Athletes of the Month, brought to you by All-American Specialties! EJHS Administration selected a male and female winner, nominated by the athletic coach.
EJHS Student-Athlete of the Month is a team member who sets a good example for others and exhibits the all-around attributes of leadership, character, and teamwork.
The EJHS Student-Athletes of the Month for August are Aaronn Blackmon (Football) and Selah Wheeler (Marching Band)! The EJHS Student-Athletes of the Month for September are Hayden Hodges (Cross Country) and Alana Ngo (Volleyball)!
8th Grade Fun Friday
Our 8th-grade Eagles enjoyed Fun Friday last week! Students were rewarded for their hard-work and good behavior.
DAR Citizenship Award
Every year the EJHS faculty and staff select one senior to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Award, sponsored by the James Pittman Chapter in Jackson County. This year's award goes to Taylor Joyner who can now go on to compete for a DAR scholarship.
State Student Advisory Council
State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected 74 Georgia students from 1,550 applicants to serve on his 2024-2025 Student Advisory Council. Throughout the year, these students will meet with Superintendent Woods to provide feedback on the impact of state policies in the classroom. EJHS sophomore, Duncan Porter, is among those students to receive this honor!
Scholastic Images on Campus This Week
Scholastic Images, our official supplier for Letter Jackets, Class Rings, Caps & Gowns, Graduation Announcements, and Senior Swag will be on campus at East Jackson next week on Tuesday, October 8th during lunch, so don’t miss out on placing your orders for:
*Letter Jackets for any student who has earned a letter! Bring proof that you earned your letter (actual award letter or certificate) and a $150 deposit to get the order started! We’ll custom-size you and walk you through the rest!
*Class Ring Orders for any junior or senior! Bring payment in full for the Mascot Ring Special ($337)! Bring a $100 deposit for Ultrium metal or a $200 deposit for all other metals! We’ll custom-size you and walk you through the rest!
*Seniors, pay your East Jackson Senior Dues (which includes your Cap/Gown/Tassel) and check it off your list! Payment is required in full at the time of order. (Cash, Check, or Card with a $4.95 processing fee)

EJ Alumni Night
Attention East Jackson Alumni! Join us on October 18th for an evening of celebration, fellowship, and reminiscing as we honor our time at East Jackson.
We'll kick off the event at 6:00 PM in the large gym for reconnecting and socializing. Then, at 6:50 PM, we’ll head to the field for the final lineup to form the tunnel on the football field.

Cell Phone Policy
EJHS has a zero tolerance policy regarding cell phones and other non-JCSS digital devices. Please be sure to review the cell phone policy.
ParentSquare/StudentSquare
We have moved to ParentSquare as a classroom, school, and district mass communication platform. Families should have received an invitation via the email address associated with your student in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal! Download the ParentSquare app today! (Note: you must have an active Infinite Campus portal account and be marked as a guardian to connect in ParentSquare).
Scholastic Images
Scholastic Images will be on campus on various days this year to take orders and answer questions.
Bus Riders from EJHS to Empower
Students opting to ride the bus from EJHS to Empower for morning classes should be sure to arrive on time to catch the AM Empower bus, which leaves our campus promptly at 7:45 each morning. Students who arrive late and miss the bus must report to the media center for a tardy pass. Students are reminded that multiple tardies result in disciplinary action.
Need Infinite Campus/Canvas Support?
Students and parents in need of Infinite Campus assistance should first try resetting passwords on your own with the help of this video guide: Reset Your Infinite Campus Password. If you are unable to change passwords or login, please complete the Infinite Campus Support Form for assistance and check your email within a couple of days for a resolution.

Bus rider information for the 2024-25 school year is now available. Please visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/busroutes. You can also keep track of your student's location while on the bus with the Here Comes the Bus App.

Pay at LINQ Connect
- Breakfast costs $1.45 in the elementary schools and $1.55 in the middle and high schools.
- Lunch costs $2.10 in the elementary schools and $2.60 in the middle and high schools.
- Adults can eat with their children at $2.75 for breakfast or $3.75 for lunch.
SchoolPay for All Other Payment Transactions
SchoolPay is the only way to complete transactions related to school services, including fundraisers, club dues, and dance tickets this year. We will be limiting cash and check transactions moving forward.
